Job Description: Cutting edge, senior, opportunity at fast growing Financial Data Analytics firm for a senior Oracle DBA The Data Analytics platform is designed to revolutionize the way hedge funds and prime brokers communicate and derive value by providing hedge fund managers with everything they need to optimize counterparty relationships. Formulate and define systems scope and objectives through needs analysis and business requirements.
Manage and administer the study, analysis, and evaluation of current and projected database systems and procedures, as well as the design, implementation, and maintenance of revised or new systems.
Develop and establish department standards and procedures, and coordinate the technical support and direction to programming, operations and other departments.
Overall responsibilities for project status, meetings, reporting, scope changes, financials, administrative and technical issues.
Primary liaison for technical & business teams.
24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business.
Able to work non-standard office hours to meet critical maintenance and release schedules.
Administration, performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle databases.
Management and maintenance of backups and recovery procedures Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environments
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems independently.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
Expert knowledge of database security methodologies.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems independently.
Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures.

5+ years as an Oracle DBA
Exceptional experience administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle databases as a Systems/Infra DBA required
Strong experience working with Oracle versions 11gR1/2 in a UNIX environment required
Strong,proven Oracle Database Performance Diagnostic skills (at both the SQL and system levels) required
Strong programming experience in PL/SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting and/or Python (preferably) required
Experience with features such as ASM, Active Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle RMAN.
Self-starter capability, ability to acquire new skills autonomously.
Demonstrably solid written and verbal communication skills to drive projects to successful conclusion.
Preferred Skills

Database system experience ie. Postgres
Oracle RAC experience desirable
