Job Description: Xerox is looking for someone who is an experienced Server and Application Support Technician to join a newly created IT support team. The new support team is tasked with identifying and filling technical support gaps between IT contractors and Xerox technical staff, supporting complex multi-server environments, supporting multiple database platforms and assisting with asset management. Xerox is looking for an energetic addition to our team who is ready to take on a high level of ownership and responsibility. Responsibilities Include:

Collaborates with system owners, developing expertise in their systems as needed to assist these owners in enforcing best practices for system design, change management, security, account management, information governance, disaster recovery, user experience management, etc.
Responsible for translating IT best practices to other system owners, while assisting with technical implementations.
Defines, promotes, and enforces best practices for using assigned systems.
Identifies and considers all risks, and balances those with performing the task efficiently.
Demonstrates awareness of database table structures and content of tables within assigned systems as needed to support troubleshooting, customization, or integration data flows.
Acts independently to meet goals and objectives identified by senior management, including assisting in the creation of project plans and manage time effectively.
High-level involvement in providing optimal performance and responsive support. Works to ensure optimal performance and reliability of systems while also providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to other Engineers and Technical Support Specialists.
Acknowledges key role in responding to alerts and assisting Technical Support in analysis and resolution of issues.
Understands Information Security Standards and how to apply those standards.

Qualifications:

Expert-level proficiency with key technologies and demonstrated willingness and ability to develop expertise in new technologies as needed.
Experience installing, configuring, monitoring and managing enterprise software and COTS (commercial off-the-self) products in a Windows Server Environment.
Experience with Microsoft IIS server management (or other web server) as needed to support assigned applications.
Proficient understanding of networking. TCP/IP, NAT, PAT, MAC filtering, network masks, VLANS, and troubleshooting application issues in a Wide Area Network.
Ability to interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors and contract consultants.
Familiar with Windows Server Deployments in virtual and cloud environments.
Experience with automation using scripting languages (PowerShell, batch, etc.) and ETL methods (SSIS, etc.).
Understands and articulates relational database concepts. Maintains basic proficiency in constructing and executing SQL queries as needed to support assigned systems.
Basic understanding of Source Control and Application Management Lifecycle solutions.
Knowledge of Information Security Standards.
Ability to learn rapidly. Meticulous and cautious. Able to identify and consider all risks, and balance those with performing the task efficiently.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with peers, users, and clients.
Must have customer service attitude and ability to work well with other groups.
Must be currently eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
Must consent to and successfully clear all required pre-employment screenings (background and substance abuse).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
Experience with administrating Business Intelligence software.
Basic understanding of .Net and Java runtime environments.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory / Group Policy.
Experience with SSL, TLS, and PSK encryption technologies.
Experience with Microsoft WSUS.
