Job Description: JOB FUNCTION:
The IT Support Technician's role is to provide support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment and provide technical support forthe data and voice infrastructure. The IT Support Technician provides services to both Cooper River Partners and other tenants at the Bushy Park site.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE POSITION:
Tasks include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware. The IT Support Technician will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
SKILLS PREREQUISITES:
MANDATORY:
Strong understanding Microsoft Software products including all MS Operating Systems.
Understanding of remote control diagnostic tools to assist in troubleshooting problems.
Willingness to expand knowledge and expertise by learning new and evolving technologies.
The drive to increase your technical skill set beyond just break\fix of PC issues.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:

MANDATORY:
High School diploma or GED with 1-3 years of experience in desktop support.

PREFERRED:
Associates degree in Information Systems, Computer Science
Technical certifications (A+ or Microsoft)

AUTHORIZED TRAINING PERIOD:
The incumbent is expected to perform at basic level with limited oversight after a30-day training period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
Work with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
Train and orient staff on use of hardware and software.
Perform upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
Assess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
Assist with maintainingLAN/WAN, phone, and other insfrastructure
Assist with maintaining data backup system
Support voice telecommunications for multiple companies (CRP and external companies) at our chemical industrial complex site.
Assist support activities of the site wiring vendor, supporting networking, and voice telecom.
