Job Description: The Front End team supports the high traffic websites for their 6 different retail brands. They are responsible for the new features, functionality and capabilities on each of the sites. They have their own home-grown, customized eCommerce platform. There are some very exciting projects in progress and in queue. These include Personalization initiatives, mobile platfrom initiatives, and new Registy capabilities. They are also ramping up their Product Information pages and enhancing their Check Out process. Our eCommerce team is looking to add another web developer to the team. The team is extremely tight and value eachothers ideas and opinions. This candidate will:

- Serves as presentation layer developer on eCommerce development team projects (HTML/CSS/Freemarker), most specifically Registry.
- Ensures presentation layer deliverables are in alignment with standards and best practices.
- Works closely with development tech leads to support projects during all phases of delivery: contributes to or develops project estimates, creates or reviews solution designs, creates quality documentation, and performs code reviews.

Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in development, implementation, and maintenance of large systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with an IT or similar focus.
- Demonstrated competency developing efficient, effective solutions to diverse, complex problems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing systems and/or processes, including written specifications and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization; able to communicate ideas precisely and accurately.
- Able to communicate and collaborate with others to reach consensus or compromise when necessary.

Technical Experience:

- Demonstrated expertise in presentation-layer web development, including XHTML and CSS, and related standards and tools.
- Expertise in template development (JSP), Freemarker a plus.
- Familiarity with Internet technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP)
- Have an understanding of Web Information Architecture, such as REST architectural principles.
- Emerging web standards, such as HTML5.
- Service oriented designs and technologies (AJAX, XML/JSON).
- Detailed working knowledge of browser heterogeneity and strategies for achieving consistency across platforms.
- Detailed working knowledge of the browser-based Javascript execution model, and strategies for optimizing real and perceived performance.
- Detailed working knowledge of browser security considerations a plus.
- Client-side performance/behavior benchmarking, modeling, measurement, testing.
- Understanding of Unix/Unix-like operating systems and scripting (Linux, AIX, BSD, OSX, sh, perl, awk, sed, ssh, etc).
- Digital imaging and image processing (file formats, batch processing, color) a plus.
- Experience with Adobe tools (Flash/Flex) a plus.
