•Position: Sr. Accountant Payroll Duration: 6+ Months Location: Mountain View, CA Job ID : 5503309 Duties: The Accounting Manager-Payroll is a primary process owner for significant areas such as general ledger, payroll, accruals and other key business cycles. You will be an integral part of the Global Accounting team to ensure accurate payroll account reconciliations and validate the integrity of financial aspects of compensation and benefit related expenses. Using your solid accounting knowledge, you will ensure that accounts related to compensation and benefits are properly stated on financial statements in accordance to GAAP and IFRS, provide critical support for and collaborate with the corporate global accounting operations team, and maintain effective internal controls. Responsibilities include making recommendations to improve accounting processes and systems by the utilization of broad accounting and business knowledge to identify accounting issues and opportunities. Responsibilities: Manage transition of payroll accounting activities from regional payroll processing teams to outsourced service provider (Genpact); monitor progress and drive to completion Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and account analysis; review payroll and other compensation and benefits account reconciliations completed by Genpact Work closely with outsourced service provider on resolution of open items; research and clean-up outstanding reconciling items for complex payroll reconciliations; track progress and collaborate with regional payroll teams Prepare or review global payroll journal entries and ensure monthly journal entries prepared by Genpact are posted in a timely manner Support the payroll reconciliation improvement process; prepare templates and schedules for reconcilers to be used as a standard reconciliation backups Regularly review and submit requests for AssureNet assignment updates of payroll reconciliations Communicate, train and enforce policies with outsourced service provider and global teams Proficiently operate in the accounting modules of an ERP System Provide day to day accounting operations support; assist with non-payroll monthly close functions as needed Participate in global standardization efforts for policies and procedures and account reconciliations Motivate, engage, and provide support to the accounting operation team members and cross functional business partners Monitor monthly compensation and benefit expenses, perform variance analysis, identify drivers and make adjustment journal entries if necessary Prepare and review schedules in support of internal and external audit processes and requirements Coordinate and ensure ongoing compliance with SOX Skills: Advanced excel skills including macros is required Outstanding oral communication, analytical and written skills Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively Strong attention to detail, organized and thorough Demonstrated experience in driving process improvement Ability to work independently and as a strong team player Ability to meet tight deadlines Working knowledge of Oracle 11i or R12 is desirable
