We have worked with this client for close to 10 years and understand their leadership and culture extremely well. We are recruiting on behalf of this client to find the perfect match for the organization to fill some big shoes for a Security Systems Engineer!


The Security Engineering unit provides for access control and analysis of the client IT Network and applications environments for risks and threats. This unit also ensures that proposed and existing systems and network security architectures are engineered for and aligned with and operated according to the client’s security policies and standards as well as industry best practices, and develops mitigation strategies, techniques and processes for security breaches.

The candidate will have primary responsibilities for one or more technology platforms and secondary responsibility for other technologies. This position also provides for communications and technical feedback between customers, Field Technical Services, and other work units and provides “Tier III” support and technical escalation for design and problem resolution.

This position is distinguished by a requirement to rapidly and dynamically respond to a continuously changing technology environment and threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
System Security Engineering:
Designs, engineers and develops security tools for infrastructure and applications environment
Designs vulnerability testing processes and security breach mitigation tactics
Designs breach mitigation tactics
Develops processes to advance security of vendor products
Systems Security Analysis:
Performs security analysis of new and existing applications and operating systems; works with customers and vendors to implement and optimize client’s and ITG security standards into products before they go into production
Analyzes other department’s systems to assess security vulnerability and needs
Conducts Vulnerability testing on systems
Performs security forensics as needed
System Security Administration:
Researches and writes security “effective practices” as “living documents” which are updated as the environment changes.
Maintains, implements, and manages enterprise level security tools.
Maintains up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (e.g., security tools) or not (e.g., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree and three years of progressively responsible Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience

Designing, implementing and supporting new systems and infrastructure independently
Experience using SDLC or like processes to manage projects
Experience in supporting large mission critical systems in multiple production environments
Experience with Cisco or other major network hardware vendors
Experience with IDS, IPS, WAF, NAC, web filtering, and other enterprise security platforms

Proficient in network architectures and topologies
Expert knowledge of information security pertinent to operating systems, file systems, and network infrastructure.
Comprehensive knowledge of the following:
Network protocols
Routing protocols
Network topologies
Data Communications Equipment
Network Management Tools
Operating Systems (*NIX, Mac OS X, Windows XP/7/8/Server, etc.)

Possess or be able to obtain and maintain one or more of the following certifications within 6 months:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
