The Information Security Analyst Specialist / Sr. Network Engineer performs a variety of complex tasks that include planning, documenting, analyzing, implementing, upgrading and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. This position requires specific technical knowledge and may on occasion, lead projects to deliver the objectives of a larger program in the San Diego, CA area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
· Monitors and analyzes networks, applications and information systems to determine security posture and makes recommendations for improvement.
· Establishes computer and physical security by developing standards, policies and procedures.
· Coordinates with IT and facilities security and recommends improvements.
· Monitors use of data files and regulates access to safeguard information.
· Maintains network and system access by providing information, resources and technical support.
· Ensures authorized access by investigating improper access, revoking access, reporting violations and monitoring information requests.
· Safeguards systems by performing regular backups, developing procedures for source code management and disaster preparedness and recommending improvements.
· Develops security awareness by providing briefings, educational material and on-going communication.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publication and maintaining Continuous Education Units (CEU).
· Encrypts data transmissions and erects firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted.


Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and Networking
Expert knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
· Strong knowledge and experience implementing information and network security policies and standards.
· Demonstrated skills in problem solving and risk mitigation.
· Working knowledge of network protocols, routers, hubs, and switches.

Strong oral and written communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of Access Control Lists and security hardening (DISA STIG checklists, etc.)
Familiarity with Cisco Access Control Server (ACS)
Familiarity with IPSEC VPNs
· Familiarity with Cisco device management (SNMP, Syslog, etc.)
· Strong attention to detail and technical writing skills is required.
· Strong networking skills are a must.

Minimum Qualifications
Security+ CE
Secret Clearance
5 Years of experience in networking and Information Assurance

Preferred Qualifications
· Preferred experienced with DoD Incident Handling and Incident Response requirements and execution (SOC/CIRT and tier 3 level experiences preferred).
· Experience with the Navy's NCDOC preferred.
· Navy and/or DoD experience
