With the launch of Falcon 8+, the first commercial drone, in the North American Market, the brand value of Intel is expected to increase. As Intel has encountered a rapid decrease in its computer sales in the past few years, it has been trying to use its technology into new devices to regain its old market value.
The drone contains features like water-resistant cockpit, autopilot system, aerial sensing solutions, high-precision GPS etc. Falcon 8+ is applicable for a series of commercial applications, especially industrial inspection, surveying, and mapping. It can reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour. The cockpit is decked with a joystick and tablet. Josh Walden, Intel’s senior vice president, commented that Falcon 8+ is capable in generating the highest stability in jarring circumstances and it is superior in term of safety.
Walden also says, “With the introduction of the Intel Falcon 8+ system, Intel is setting a new standard for commercial-grade drones, incorporating full electronic system redundancy and automated aerial-sensing solutions with best-in-class onboard sensors. Drones are an important computing platform for the future, and Intel is positioning itself at the forefront of this opportunity to provide the compute, sensor, communications, and cloud integration for the growing drone ecosystem.”
