Gender Bias in the Information Technology Industry

Silicon Valley tech majors are continuously facing gender inequality accusations .Tina Huang who is an ex-software engineer of Twitter claimed that the micro blogging site uses a secret promotion process that is often suited to a man more. She also added that the organization provides news of its job openings and promotions to specific people and this procedure very often bypass women. Huang has filed her class-action lawsuit in California state court in San Francisco.
Another former employee of Face book alleged that gender bias is entrenched in the company. One of the statistics made available by Twitter, Google and Facebook and various other companies’ shows that tech companies on an average employs seventy percent male and white. This report and lack of any formal job application and promotion process has lead to such rampant lawsuits.
The spokesperson from Twitter countered the entire allegation by saying that the micro blogging site is absolutely committed to diversification of workforce and supportive workplace atmosphere. The spokesperson also added that the Ms. Huang was never fired and facts will prove the fact that she was treated with complete fairness.
On the other hand Ms. Huang has pleaded all the ex-employees who have faced discrimination at workplace to join her in this fight.
